String Trio - Sequence

November 11, 2007

This composition portrays fractal that fails to happen. More accurately, it takes the traditional musical concept of the sequence and amplifies it through obscuring repetition. In writing this piece, I was always conscious about how every new repetition of the opening material could be considered as either new material or repeated material. By doing so, the distinction between same and different is questioned.

This is a reading session performed by Dan Skidmore (violin), Nicole Peragine (viola), and Grace Lin Anderson (cello).
